From January 26-30 2019, we were present at Sirha, which takes place in Lyon every two years. This edition of the world’s leading hospitality and food service event attracted over 220,000 visitors from 132 different countries and showcased hundreds of new products and brands. In short, the perfect opportunity to officially introduce our premium Belgian chocolate range Veliche Gourmet in France, following a successful launch in the Netherlands at Horecava 2019. Over the course of five days, professionals in chocolate were given a unique opportunity to taste our products and find out all about Veliche Gourmet.
Prior to Sirha 2019, we gave away several VIP cards and regular entrance tickets through our social media channels. Winners could join the other attendees at our stand, where passionate chefs gave daily demonstrations using our cocoa and chocolate. Their unique recipes included spicy hot chocolate, tasty cookies, vegan chocolate cakes and salted brownies. Everyone present had the opportunity to ask questions about the way in which Veliche Gourmet chocolate is prepared. It soon became clear that the products are extremely easy to work with and that the results invariably taste great and look fantastic. “Veliche Gourmet is suitable for every recipe, application and technique you can imagine!” said one enthusiastic visitor. “It also looks like great attention has been paid to making sure the quality is consistent which is very reassuring for me and my daily work”.
Apart from an overview of all the latest culinary trends and innovations, Sirha presented a wide range of newcomers at its Start-up Village which presented the very best in Food Tech. Sirha also hosted several prestigious contests, including the Innovation Awards’, ‘International Catering Cup’, the ‘Bocuse d’Or’ and the ‘Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie’. A vast range of demos and opportunities for tasting everything from wines to exclusive coffees were extremely well received. Gust Carelsbergh, one of our lucky free entrance ticket winners, commented that he had never attended such an interesting and instructive exhibition. He was delighted by the demonstrations at the Veliche Gourmet stand, at which he also received a goodie bag. “We managed to collect lots of tips, ideas and recipes.” Wout Spoormans, another winner, was also enthusiastic about his experience at Sirha and Veliche Gourmet: “I got to meet a large number of people who share the same passion for their profession and I truly was inspired during all of the demonstrations”.
We look back on a very successful launch event in France where we got to meet many passionate craftspeople that strive to make tantalizing and exceptional creations every day. It has been a true pleasure to present our chocolate at the event and receive so many enthusiastic reactions.
